NEW START FOR WOMEN
Safe House Stellenbosch provides a safe, supportive, nonjudgmental environment for abused women and their children that is respectful of cultural and personal beliefs. We are also committed to raising the level of community awareness regarding the pervasiveness and effects of violence against women, with the goal of reducing and preventing harm to women and their children.
We achieve our mission through provision of 24 hour shelter, safety, protection, support, linkages with community resources, information and community education.
We are committed to:
Facilitating a rehabilitation process from a Christian perspective based on biblical principles, methods and teachings.
Create an environment where women and children can be protected and recuperate from abuse in their home environment.
Introduce them to organisations providing skills training, education and upliftment for them to improve their quality of life.
Arrange for counselling in terms of their requirements, for instance, legal, psychological and spiritual counselling.
Provide trained staff to manage the goals set.
Create awareness among the community of Stellenbosch and encourage them to become involved in the upliftment of those requiring assistance.
Procure the necessary funds by way of donations and sponsorships to finance the activities of the Safe House.
Co-operate with institutions for men with similar aims, for the purpose of reconciliation and the re-establishment of the family unit.
