L’Abrie de Dieu Safe House is the ONLY SHELTER OF ITS KIND in the Greater Stellenbosch Municipal District.
Despite being one of the most affluent towns in South Africa, it is sadly also a town of great disparity which includes many farm and rural communities, as well as informal settlements.
The house serves as a sanctuary for abused women and their children who unexpectedly found themselves destitute as a result of the domestic violence. We assist them to come to terms with past trauma thus helping them to develop into successful, mature individuals. We offer shelter, protection, food, clothing, toiletries and support to these vulnerable women.

The safe house is registers to provide inpatient services to 17 individuals (woman and children), and with all costs involved (housing, food, electricity, medications, therapy etc) it costs around R270 per day to look after a women or child. In addition to in patient services we provide food parcels to 5 survivors of violence that have been reunited with family.
Functions and events, like the golf day, were our main source of income for 2019 and now that we are unable to do this we are asking for your help.
